Do something different for your hen (or stag!) party with a Hot Fox Pottery workshop. 'Off the peg' options and prices are below, but the session can be tailored to fit your needs and numbers. If you don't want to make something with boobs, you can look at our group workshop options. Please use our booking/enquiry link to ask any questions or make a booking.
No previous pottery experience is needed for any of the workshops, they're totally beginner-friendly!
Make a booby cup or bowl
£45 per head, including an alcoholic or soft drink
Details:

2 hour workshop. Each person will make a booby cup or small dish out of clay. (You can of course choose to do another body part or decoration - you don't have to do boobs!)

After the workshop we will fire and glaze your pots in a colour of your choice. These will be posted to one address (at cost of p&p) or can be collected.

Group size - 6 - 35 people.

For groups of 6 - 8 the workshop will be held in our Brighton studio on Hartington Rd.

For larger groups we will hold the party in a private space in the centrally located Grand Central Pub (right opposite Brighton Station) or the lovely Park View Pub by Preston Park. You can get food at the venues before or after the party should you wish.
A 50% deposit is needed to secure the booking, with the remainder payable a month before the party.

Do I need any pottery experience?
None at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners, and we've been doing exactly that for five years now. Our teachers will guide you through every step, so you'll end up with something you're genuinely proud of, regardless of your skill level.
How long does the workshop last?
The hen party workshop lasts 2 hours. It's a relaxed, sociable session, and we're pretty relaxed guys, though we do recommend you make sure you turn up on time as we do use all the time available. That said, there is certainly time to make your piece, have a drink, and enjoy the experience together.
What will we actually make? My step-mum doesn't want to make boobs!
Each person hand-builds a ceramic pinch-pot cup or small dish. You can also choose to make a different body part or a completely different decoration if you prefer — it's your party! If you'd all rather make something else then we have a corporate team-building model we can follow, or we can make lovely tealight shades.
Where does the workshop take place?
Smaller groups (6–8 people) are hosted in our lovely pottery studio in our home in Brighton. Larger groups are held in a private space at either the Grand Central Pub (right opposite Brighton Station) or the Park View Pub near Preston Park — both central, easy to get to, and run by lovely people!
How much does it cost?
It's £45 per person, which includes an alcoholic or soft drink. There are no hidden extras — just a deposit of 50% to secure your booking, with the balance due a month before the party.
When will we get our pots? Can we take them away on the day?
Unlike other places, we only use high-temperature-fired stoneware clay and quality glazes, so it does require multiple firings over an extended time. It can take up to 4-6 weeks, but we will always ask you for the date of the wedding and will always do our very best to get them to you before then where possible. If you can't collect from us in Brighton then we can post them to one central address for £25.
Can you cater for stag parties or mixed groups too?
Absolutely! The workshop works just as well for stag parties, mixed groups, or any other group celebration. It's a fun, creative activity that everyone gets stuck into regardless of background, or of what you end up making. It can take up to 4-6 weeks, but we will always ask you for the date of the wedding and will always do our very best to get them to you before then where possible. If you can't collect from us in Brighton then we can post them to one central address for £25.
